Adding ability to trigger events on IFTTT would be very useful for home users. Use cases I've seen on competing products include:
1. triggering home automation events when the router 'sees' activity from a specific MAC or IP.
2. Alerts from IFTTT on bandwidth usage

LaurentNot sure about IFTTT, but any type of automation hooks would be useful. This is needed in 2 directions:
* Internal events trigger something externally (e.g. execute a script on event - with curl, we could do most anything).
* External events trigger an internal state change, for instance the application of a policy (the same way that time/date changes can trigger policy changes today). This could be as simple as supporting an ssh-able script or getting the web server called by an external curl. -
